The opening celebration of renovated synagogue will take place from 5th till 9th May 2010

The official ceremony of opening renovated synagogue will take place at Thursday, 6th May,  6.00 p.m. – 8.00 p.m.

Artistic programme:

    • Cantor Joseph Malovany (New York) with The White Stork Synagogue Choir under the direction of Stanisław Rybarczyk (Wrocław) –  Sunday, May 9th

 

    • Songs from the oratorium ”David and Batsheba” by the Norwegian composer Ståle Kleiberg, conducted by Vivianne Sydnes and performed  by the Nidaros Cathedral Choir (Trondheim) and  “Leopoldina” – the Wroclaw Chamber Orchestra – Wednesday, May 5th

 

    • “Kaddish” – composed and conducted by Krzysztof Penderecki, with Cantor Joseph Malowany and the Wrocław Philharmonic Orchestra – Saturday, May 8th

 

  • A multimedia installation prepared by Bente Kahan (Norway) and Yoav Rossano (Israel)

Furthermore the international conference ”Religion and Beyond: Jewish Religious Life in Breslau/Wrocław” will take place.

The name of synagogue (“Under White Stork”) came from the inn that had been in the same place before the synagogue was built.
