The City Museum of Wrocław invites to the exhibition of Tomasz Tomaszewski on which one can see photos from the cycle “Hades” that the author took in Silesia between 2009 and 2010. The exhibition is from 14 January till 6 February 2011.

Tomasz Tomaszewski is one of the most famous Polish photographers. His photos have been presented all over the world, in New York, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Toronto andother places. The works by Tomaszewski have been published in prestige magazines such as Stern, New York Times, Vouge, Zeit Magazine or National Geographic. His works are characterized by the unique vision and ability of observation that doesn’t  compromise on anything but makes us aware of great kindliness towards  portrayed people and the reality.

In the new picture story – “Hades” Tomasz Tomaszewski tries to face the main opinion about Silesia and its residence. He starts the reinterpretation of “Silesia” with the main, red accent of elevation of one of the buildings in Nikiszowca – a very famous district in Silesia. He presents the landscape that is full of contrast, shape and saturated colours. In his other photos he surprises and charms. He finds amazing and picturesque places in gloomy mines and steel mills.

The exhibition covers more than 80 photos taken between 2009 and 2010.
