Gala of Polish Jazz will end the festival.

Wroclaw’s Jazz Festival “Jazz nad Odrą” is next to “Jazz Jamboree” and Cracow’s “Zaduszki Jazzowe” one of the most famous and one of the oldest Polish jazz festivals. It started in 1964 in a very popular student’s club “Pałacyk”. From the beginning it was a very important festival in Poland. The festival is the beginning of professional career for the winners of the  competition or for those who have been noticed by its jury or critics. It’s enough to give such names as: Włodzimierz Nahorny, Zbigniew Seifert, Krzesimir Dębski, Jarosław Śmietana, Janusz Strobel, Piotr Baron, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Tomasz Szukalski, Andrzej Zaucha, Ewa Bem. Over the years the formula of the festival has changed – a lot of European and world jazz musicians have taken part in the festival but the competition has still existed. Here is a list of some participants of the festival: Pat Metheny, Paco deLucia, Al diMeola, Kenny Garret, Dave Holland, Tooth Thielemans, Diana Krall, David Sanborn, Ron Carter, Lizz Wright, Patricia Barber.
