One of the most outstanding jazz double bass players will have a concert with his famous Charlie Haden’s Quartet West during the May edition of Ethno Jazz Festival under the world tour of the occasion of 25th anniversary of this project.

Charlie Haden was born in Iowa and grew up in a musical family that had concerts on the local radio playing the country music and American folk. Haden made his debut when he was 2 years old,  singing with his family. He was singing till he was 14 years old. Few years earlier he started to get interest in jazz playing the double bass that belonged to his older brother.

Charlie Haden is well known because of his characteristic bass parts and now he is one of the most famous double bass players and composers of jazz music. In his new album “Sophisticated Ladies” recorded with Quartet West, there appeared great singers: Cassandra Wilson, Diana Krall, Melody Gardot, Norah Jones, Renee Fleming and his wife Ruth Cameron.

During the Wroclaw’s concert Charlie Haden will play with Alan Broadbent, a pianist, Rodney Green a percussionist and Ernie Watts a saxophonist.
