Previous edition

This year edition will be held on the slogan “Pride of Africa” – the organizers want to present different Africa, the success and achievement of this continent, the important persons of Africa’s history and its positive image that is fulfilled by underestimated heroes. One of the most important films is “Atletu” directed by Rasselas Lakew and Davy Frankel (Ethiopia). The winner of audience prize on International African Film Festival in Taryf presents an amazing story about, an Ethiopian runner Abele Bikila who was a winner against all adversity – the first in history Olympic gold medalist from Africa who shocked the world in 1960 because he won the marathon barefoot. It’s the history of the great triumph and the tragic collapse that didn’t  break the spirit of the great African man.
