Ketevan ”Katie” Melua is an English singer and composer who was born in Georgia but spent her childhood and youth in North Ireland. Her first album was “Call Off the Search” which was published in 2003 and reached the first place of UK Charts.

Katie was born in Georgia in 1984 and till 1993 she lived in Batumi where her father worked in a local hospital as a cardiologist. In 1993 her family emigrated to Great Britain and settled in Belfast. She moved with her family to London in 1998. She won the singer competition organized by English TV channel when she was 15 and she sang a song written Nilsson “Without You”. She started writing her own songs in 2001 when she studied at art school.

Melua was discovered by a composer and producer Mike Batta that was looking for an artist who could sing jazz and blues in an interesting way. A new album of Katie Melua “The House” was published in May 2010. The album has 12 songs and will be promoted during the concert in Wrocław.

The concert will be on 27th of May 2011 7 p.m. in Hala Orbita.
