Neither in Cape Town nor in Budapest but in Wroclaw there will be organized the 2017 non-Olympic sports competitions, announced Thursday its decision the authorities of the International World Games Association. Among the disciplines that Wroclaw will propose there will be lacrosse and kickboxing.
Non-Olympic sports competitions will be held in Wroclaw in 37 disciplines. Wroclaw can propose five of them. “Two disciplines which we will propose as an organizer will be lacrosse and kickboxing in formula K1. We will let the residents of Wroclaw to select the other three” – explains Piotr Uhle of the committee of The World Games 2017 in Wroclaw.
Wroclaw will be visited by approximately 3.5 thousand participants and more than 400 thousand fans.
The World Games is an international sports event which started in 1981 and is organized in the year after the summer Olympic Games (under the auspices of the IOC – thus it is right to the Olympic rings). Some of the sports played at the World Games are former Olympic disciplines (tug), or were incorporated into the Olympic program (triathlon, taekwondo).

MONSTER JAM HAS BEEN POSTPONED. IT’S GOING TO TAKE PLACE ON OCTOBER the 1ST!
Monster Jam is the rivalry between the big, characteristic American Monster Truck pickups that are driven by methanol engines and achieve power of almost 500 mechanic horses. The competition is played on the biggest stadiums in the world.
In Wroclaw’s competition there will be 10 top teams from the U.S., such as: Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction. Monster Jam is not only the rivalry on the course. Before the Monster appears on the course one can see it close at the Pit Party, the special event that will be before the main event. The owners of tickets will have a chance to get the autograph or talk to the drivers or mechanics of these huge machines. It’s the great occasion to see how the Monster Trucks look like. All of this one can see in the special zone next to the stadium.
For the Monster Jam the Wroclaw’s plate stadium will be covered by 6 500 tons of special mix of clay and sand that will form the course. It will also create the special ground jumps and the obstacles that will be built from 30 wrecks of cars, buses, vans and caravans.
